GDS features at a glance
GDS must be used in conjunction with Mail Archiving (MA). GDS’s features are as follow:
-
GC (Grid Controller): Manages the entire email grid search, including index file delegation, statistics, analysis, and provides search results.
-
GSA (Grid Search Accelerator): A search engine that distributes and stores index files with independent parallel processing capabilities and separate Disk I/O channels. It can be expanded annually as archived email volumes increase.
-
GS (Grid Storage): The storage device for emails, featuring an open architecture that integrates NAS or IP SAN storage via Ethernet, or SAN storage via HBA. It offers unlimited storage expansion.
